The Virage SQL Server database plug-in allows you to insert metadata
extracted by the VideoLogger into a Microsoft SQL Server database. This
plug-in gives you the performance associated with direct SQL Server database
calls. The metadata insertion can be performed after an indexing session
is complete (batch mode) or as the video is being indexed (real-time mode).
This storage of metadata allows you to perform searches for applicable
video assets to design applications that meet your data management and
reporting needs. Additionally, the highly configurable nature of the product
allows you to make use of either the default database layout provided
or to integrate the metadata into your own database schema. The plug-in
also has the ability to launch user-defined programs to perform external
data manipulation (e.g. the creation of content web pages).
